Welcome To Year 2 / Croeso i Blwyddyn Dau
Our Trip to St. Fagans. We went to St. Fagans for the day. It was really hot and we enjoyed going into the houses because it was cool. We loved finding out about life in the past. Mrs McComas wanted us to look at the Celtic houses first but they had been taken away! So we looked at lots of Tudor houses of rich people and poor people. Poor people lived with their animals! We went into the Victorian schoolroom and the man told us about writing in ink and the older children helping the younger ones. We asked what the stick was for. It was for naughty children! Ouch! We ended the day buying ice team for £2. Ga I hufen ia, os galewch yn dda.

We have been in our beautiful garden to look at the flowers. We saw a bee go into a flower to get nectar. Little does it know that pollen is being rubbed on to its back. This pollen is then taken to another flower to make a seed. We also saw flowers that had lost their petals and were beginning to make seeds. The flowers are so clever as they attract the bees with their sweet scent and attractive petals. Germination We have been finding out about what happens to seeds when they germinate. We kept a diary of the changes. After a week the broad bean had developed a white root which grew down and a greenish shoot that grew up towards the sun. We measured the growth in millimetres. |
